IF YOU ARE DIETING AND WORKING OUT:
If you have been trying to lose weight and begun working out only to see your weight loss slow or stop completely, take heart, you are still losing fat, just not weight (as quickly).
1) Muscle is denser than fat and the same volume will weigh more.
2) Your muscles grow through irritating them. This also causes inflammation and inflammation causes water retention and water is HEAVY. For instance, in the hospital I was on an IV diuretic. I lost 40 pounds! Literally 2 days home from the hospital and off the IV, I gained 10 pounds back and I was barely eating because I was in a lot of pain. 10 pounds in 2 days from water weight alone!
So stick with it and be encouraged. Rather than weighing yourself, measure yourself. See if you clothes are looser. Notice if you are taking a notch off the belt. Your weight will eventually fall as well.
Remember, your goal is to lose inches, not pounds.
